In recent years it has become an important dining area featuring many excellent restaurants. One of the first of the new wave of cafe/restaurants was Xenos. Xeno's opened 33 years ago by Peter Xenos who now runs this family restaurant with his sons Tim and Dennis. Xenos works around the clock just about, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with coffee and snacks at all times. The interior is stylish way beyond the usual cafe and very comfortable.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
The personal family service is very welcoming. All very Mediterranean, pavement tables are the popular spot to watch the world go by. The menu is a creative blend of Modern Australian and Mediterranean cuisines. Traditional dishes including souvlaki, moussaka and risotto are on offer and the blackboard is always interesting with a variety of choices that change daily. The day we paid a visit, we noted cream sweet potato soup, grilled marinated quails and venison fillets with Swiss brown mushrooms, kumera chips and madiera jus. Coffee, delicious snacks, cakes from the counter are available to those who want a quick bite and a chat with friends. Xenos offers quality dining with interesting food at exceptionally reasonable prices ... little wonder its such a favourite.
