Built in 1640, our Grade II* listed timber framed pub is a picture postcard example of what makes York so special. Spread over three floors we have an assortment of spaces perfect for groups both large and small and with a variety of private hire options available, the Eagle and Child is great for any celebration. All of our food is homemade and freshly prepared, and we work closely with local suppliers to keep our dishes as seasonal and interesting as possible. The Rolling Stones hung out in our top floor bar in the 60s- their signatures in lipstick are still on the wall!
We are proud to serve fresh, locally sourced food where ever possible and all our dishes are home made. Our menus will change seasonally and we have a specials board in the pub which changes on a monthly basis, however we always offer a Sunday lunch and serve sandwiches throughout the week.
