From the boys behind Reuben Hills and Seven Seeds comes Paramount Coffee Project, a warehouse style space on the ground floor of Commonwealth Street’s refurbished Paramount building. The vibe and fit out embodies the Surry Hills ‘industrial-chic’ trademark, with polished concrete, blonde wooden stools and hints of exposed brick. A floor-to-ceiling window lets in plenty of natural light. Coffee is the cafe’s pride and joy, showcasing beans and blends from a variety of roasters around the world. The drink-in-a-jar trend is used to present cold drip long blacks, no green smoothies in site. Drinks aside, the food menu is equally worth a look.
Paramount Coffee Project was established as a collaboration between Jin Ng of Paramount House, Mark Dundon of Seven Seeds and Russell Beard of Reuben Hills. Opening in Surry Hills, Sydney in 2013, together they envisaged a space which would showcase the variety of styles and approaches in quality coffee. The café is a collaborative project to look at coffee differently in a café environment. Education and exploration of roasting styles, brew methods and coffee/cafe approach is the aim.
PCP is a cafe presenting exceptional local and international roasters presented in an unbiased and educational format. It is a platform for establishing connections and creating relationships between local and international roasters, farmers and brewers. PCP creates a way to cross-promote from a neutral perspective with only the integrity of the coffee in mind.
On a day-to-day basis PCP is a cafe which focuses on unique, delicious food and exceptional customer service. As a result there is a real emphasis on the quality of the coffee and paying tribute to all the hard work it takes to get the coffee in the cup. We strive for this quality to filter down through all aspects of the business.
