Hidden away in a historic 1900's Abattoir building, Abattoir Blues is the go-to cafe at Sydney Olympic Park. The space is much more cheery than the name suggests, with cream painted brick walls and retro white neon signs reading ‘baker', ‘bar' and ‘deli' behind the coffee machine (which brews an excellent cup). The baked bean pie, complete with puff pastry and a poached egg, is probably not the breakfast of athletic champions, but it's all about taste for this type of win. Pastries and sweets are baked fresh on site; try an almond croissant, or the banana bread French toast served with caramelised pear and ice-cream. Abattoir Blues is Sydney Olympic Park’s notorious, fully-licensed, boutique diner hidden away in a historic 1900’s abattoir building. Capturing the heart and sould of the Park, Abattoir Blues is a restaurant, café and bar experience worth discovering.
