Since the early 17th Century The Queen’s Head Inn has been welcoming weary travellers and visitors to the village of Hawkshead. Some things don’t change, whether you want to drink, dine or unwind, you will find The Queen’s Head the perfect base to explore the beautiful South Lakes of Cumbria and beyond. We have thirteen comfortable guest rooms all with private bathrooms and all individually styled and furnished. Free Wi-Fi is available for all our guests.
Our restaurant, awarded an AA rosette, has a menu to suit all tastes. Each dish is devised and perfected by our Head Chef Kevin Hodge and is designed to utilise local ingredients from local suppliers. Whether it’s a light lunch or an evening meal, The Queen’s Head offers a warm welcome and good food to those in search of a relaxed and traditionally English environment.
We have 13 beautiful newly refurbished en suite rooms. You will find 21st century comforts awaiting you in our 17th century Inn. Each room is equipped with a walk in shower, 32inch flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee trays, extremely comfortable beds and fine quality furniture, fixtures and fittings.
In our tastefully renovated 16th century Brown Cow Cottage annex next to the Inn we have a beautiful suite, perfect for a family of four (sleeps 2 adults and our sofa bed sleeps 2 children up to 12 years old), complete with a stylish en suite with bath and shower.
We can also welcome a well-behaved dog into this room. Above the suite are two further double en suites, so comfortable that you’ll never want to leave.
We have a ground floor room with its own entrance at the rear of the Inn called Trout Cottage equipped with walk in shower plus a bath to soak those weary limbs after a hard day’s walking. A further seven rooms are above the Inn, including two twin rooms, a four-poster room and a suite.
