Local-history museum featuring diverse exhibits, including a wedding cake from 1898, plus a cafe.

Discover Basingstoke and Deane’s past, from the rich archaeological heritage beneath our feet right up to the modern day.

There is always something new to see with a regularly changing programme of special exhibitions, workshops, talks and events.

Complete with marble fireplace, crystal chandelier and hand printed wallpaper, the café serves a range of Mozzo coffees, speciality teas, locally made cakes and pastries, including gluten free and Hampshire Fair products.

Cafe Willis closes 1/2 hour before closing time

The Museum will be open on Saturday 23 December, we will then close and re-open on Tuesday 2nd January.

  • No dedicated parking or drop off point. Dedicated blue badge user car parking bays at Castons Yard 50m from building
  • Ramped access to front door, automatic and power assisted doors to Sainsbury Gallery and Café Willis
  • Stair lift to 1st and 2nd floors, some restrictions - Ask staff for clarification. (Contact us on 01256 465902 before making special journey).
  • Wheelchairs available to use on 1st and 2nd floors
  • Accessible toilet on 1st floor
