Turner Sims’ intimate auditorium, outstanding acoustic and garden setting make it a favourite destination for artists and audiences alike.

BOX OFFICE OPENING HOURS

Weekdays from 10am – 5pm, Monday – Friday, or 10am – 15 minutes after event start time.

Weekends from two hours before event start time until 15 minutes after event start time.

Turner Sims Bar is open one hour before events.

WHEELCHAIR USERS AND PATRONS WHO HAVE A MOBILITY IMPAIRMENT

Turner Sims has a number of wheelchair spaces in the Auditorium and has full disabled access for both performers and audience members. However, we do ask that you inform us in advance should you require a space. If you bring a companion along, their ticket is free.

While long-running construction work takes place around Salisbury Road we are advising motorists to approach the concert hall from the South Side of Highfield Campus for evening and weekend events

  • From the A33 (The Avenue) take the A3035 (Highfield Avenue) then second left into Hawthorn Road.
  • From the A335 (Thomas Lewis Way) take the A3035 (St Denys Road and Highfield Lane) and turn right into Hawthorn Road.

At the end of Hawthorn Road turn left into Chamberlain Road and find the university car parks at the end of this road on the right – parking is free-of-charge evenings (after 5pm) and weekends.

There are Blue Badge parking spaces alongside the University Health building which can be found on the right hand side after continuing through the car parks

There is a level access footpath from here to the concert hall.

If you are driving to the concert hall during weekday university office hours, please use the pay-and-display car park located off University Road.

Car parking on campus is restricted to permit holders from 0900 – 1700 Monday to Friday. After 1700 and at weekends, parking is free. Please note that parking is only permissible in disabled bays with a blue badge displayed. (For Sat Nav purposes only please use SO17 1TR)

VISITORS WHO ARE BLIND OR PARTIALLY SIGHTED

We are happy to provide large-print versions of the season brochure on request.

HEARING/GUIDE DOGS

Turner Sims is equipped with a loop to help hearing aid users receive clear sound without background noise. Patrons can use this facility by switching their hearing aids to ‘T’.

The auditorium is also fitted with an infra-red amplification system which requires a head set. These are available from the box office on request.
Visitors are welcome to take hearing/guide dogs into the Auditorium. Please inform our Box Office that you intend to share the performance with your dog, and we can advise the best place to sit to accommodate this. Alternatively you can leave your dog with a member of our front of house staff during the performance.

FAMILIES

Families are always welcome at Turner Sims, however prams and buggies are not permitted in the auditorium. Please speak to a member of our front of house staff on arrival and they will be able to advise you on a safe place to leave them during the performance.
