Shuttleworth is based in Old Warden, Bedfordshire, just off the A1 at Biggleswade. Originally the home, gardens and vintage aircraft & vehicle collection of the Shuttleworth family, it is now one of Bedfordshire’s most interesting visitor attractions. The Collection and Swiss Garden are open to the public, and The House regularly hosts conferences and business events.
More detailed maps are available in the Visitor Centre or download from the website under each area. During the winter months the Swiss Garden and Woodland may shut earlier than 16.00 on days where there are low light levels.
Smoking is permitted in designated areas only. No drone flying is permitted at Shuttleworth. Please also refrain from flying kites as we have a working airfield.
Because we receive no government funding we charge admission to enable us to keep The Collection’s aircraft and vehicles in flying and driving order (this is living & working Collection) and to maintain the garden for visitors.
Events: Please cooperate in enhancing safety for all concerned by purchasing a ticket and watching the displays from inside our site and you will not only be viewing from the place approved by the Civil Aviation Authority but you will also be helping to keep The Collection flying!
ACCESSIBILITY
Shuttleworth is accessible, and a wheelchair is also available to borrow free of charge from the Visitor Centre. Assistance dogs are welcome and a water bowl can be located outside the restaurant on the patio.
