Opening Hours
Weekdays: 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Friday.
Weekends and Bank Holidays: We are CLOSED at weekends and Bank Holidays at the moment. We will open again at weekends in April 2018.
The Museum of the Royal Hampshire Regiment tells the story of the county infantry regiment for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
It traces its history back to 1702 when it was formed as Meredith’s Own, until its amalgamation with the Queen’s Regiment in 1992 to form the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment (Queens and Royal Hampshires).
With the help of a grant in 2014 from the Heritage Lottery Fund we completely refurbished the museum. There are now touch screen computers and films showing throughout the museum to provide you with more information should you need it.
Parking
Parking can at times be a challenge in Winchester and parking near Serle’s House is no exception; we do sometimes have one or two spaces free, but sadly we don’t control the parking where we are and so cannot guarantee it. It’s best to ask first if you are planning a visit. The Sussex Street car park is the closest public car park. Remember you don’t have to pay for parking on Sundays in Winchester. It is worth investigating the Winchester Park and Ride service; the nearest bus stops are either at the Train Station or Winchester High Street.
