The National Science and Media Museum is committed to being open and accessible for everyone.
If you have any special requirements, call us on 0844 856 3797 and we'll help you plan your visit. Lines are open 09.00–13.30 Monday to Friday, and there is a voicemail service available at other times.
A small number of wheelchairs are available for use in the museum. These can be booked in advance by calling 0844 856 3797.
GETTING HERE AND PARKING
There are three parking spaces for blue badge holders at the front of the museum. These have a maximum stay time of four hours.
There is space for car and coach drop-off directly outside the entrance.
The nearest car parks are Sharpe Street and Radwell Drive, at the rear of the museum. These car parks are council-operated, and charges will apply.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE
Access to the museum from the front of the building is via a wheelchair-accessible entrance and automatic doors.
Many of our staff are trained in disability and autism awareness and will be happy to help if you need advice during your visit.
Ask at the front desk for an information sheet containing the layout of the museum. A large print version is also available.
INFORMATION FOR WHEELCHAIR USERS

There are wheelchair-accessible entrances at the front and back of the museum. Both entrances have automatic doors.
Easy access toilets are located on the Ground Floor, Levels 3 and 5, and in Pictureville Bar.
A lift can be accessed from the museum foyer on the Ground Floor. It goes to all levels of the museum.
INFORMATION FOR VISITORS WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENTS
Induction loop facilities are located at the Box Office on the Ground Floor and on Level 6, in the BFI Mediatheque.
Induction loop systems are also fitted in our three cinemas. To access the system, you will need to turn your hearing aid to the 'T' position.
INFORMATION FOR VISITORS WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS
Assistance dogs are welcome. If you wish to take your dog into one of our cinemas, please let our Box Office staff know when booking so that an aisle seat can be reserved. Our cinema staff will be happy to provide drinking water for your dog.
A large print map of the museum is available from the front desk, and you can get large print film schedules from the Box Office. Just ask a member of staff when you arrive at the museum.
A lift can be accessed from the museum foyer on the Ground Floor. It goes to all levels of the museum, and has audio announcements, Braille and raised buttons.
VISITORS WITH AN AUTISM SPECTRUM CONDITION
A limited number of quiet spaces are available on request. If you require one during your visit, please speak to a member of staff, who can check the availability and location for you.
You may be interested in our Early Birds events. These early-morning events are suitable for families with children who have an Autism Spectrum Condition, anxiety disorder, or Special Educational Need that means they would benefit from a quieter, more relaxed museum opening. They take place four times a year and include autism-friendly film screenings.

Toilets are located on the Lower Ground Floor, Ground Floor, Levels 3 and 5, and in Pictureville Cinema.
