For over 400 years Prestongrange was a focus of industry. A harbour, glass works, pottery, colliery and brickworks have all left their marks on the landscape including winding gear, a vast brick kiln and a Cornish beam engine. Cradled by woodland the site is now a haven for wildlife where you can explore these monumental relics of Scotland’s industrial heritage.
Free to visit all year round, the site comes alive between April and September when the visitor centre, museum and café are open – all family friendly with an indoor play area for children, activity sheets, outdoor games and exciting events.
We welcome group visits and would be delighted to discuss your requirements with you.
The Museum is free to enter although there may be a small charge for some events and activities.
Opening Hours
The site is open to the public all day, throughout the year.
