Uncover the fascinating natural and social history of Galloway at the Museum Newton Stewart Museum, housed in the former St. John’s Church.
A wealth of historical treasures can be discovered at the Museum Newton Stewart, displaying exhibits such as local photography, costumes and fabrics relating to the natural and social history of Galloway. Explore the museum’s different sections, such as The Nursery, Tradesman's Tools, The Dairy, The Kitchen and The Smithy.
The museum is staffed by volunteers and is open from 31st March till end of June at 2pm to 5pm Monday to Saturday,July to end of 2nd week in September 10.30am - 5pm, 3rd week in September till end of October 2pm to 5pm. Last entry 4.30pm. At all other time open by prior arrangement.
