Waterside locations rarely get any better than this. Perched almost on top of the beach on the Esplanade in Cronulla is Zimzala. Huge bay windows provide a view for inside diners but if you manage to score an outdoor seat, you'll be able to listen to the waves rolling in too. The Modern Australian menu showcases has a focus on seafood however, local produce such as Junee lamb also feature. They also have a good selection of Australian wines to match. BYO is not available in peak times and groups 10 or more. (Please check when booking). Zimzala means ‘sand between your toes', and that's pretty much what you'll experience at this beachside perch. The interior is cool and elegant, with white furnishings and wide bay windows giving a relaxed beachy ambience.

FOOD & BEVERAGE

The menu at Zimzala is primarily Modern Australian, with an Asian-fusion twist. Dine on the likes of crispy salt & pepper soft shell crab with char grilled chorizo, roasted tomatoes, rocket and mint salad and harissa dressing, to red curry spiced corn fed chicken breast with coconut rice, capsicum salsa and asian herb salad. The wine list consists primarily of Australian drops that are well-priced by the glass, with a few bottles from France, Italy and New Zealand. Set menus are given for parties over 10 people.
