HMS Unicorn HMS Unicorn, Victoria Dock, Dundee DD1 3BP, United Kingdom

Restored 46-gun Royal Navy warship, launched in 1824, with displays on naval life across 4 decks.

At nearly 200 years old, HMS Unicorn is one of the world’s most remarkable historic ships.

Scotland’s only example of a wooden warship is now preserved as a museum and visitor attraction in Dundee with four atmospheric decks for visitors to explore.

Unicorn is great fun to visit but she was designed for a different age!

We have tried to make the ship as safe as possible but as she is old, we ask that you take special care during your visit.

The Unicorn contains:

  • Steep stairs
  • Trip hazards
  • Low ceilings
  • Narrow & low doorways
  • Decks that are slippery when wet
  • Low light levels

Please be aware that:

  • The entrance and exits are low
  • There are low ceilings and beams throughout the ship but especially on the orlop deck
  • There are trip hazards throughout the ship

Fire & Emergency

In the event of a fire, evacuate and assemble on the pavement opposite the ship. Check all your party are present.
