The long-held connection between food and art is never more apparent than viewing a plate of sushi. At Japango Sushi & Noodles, they take that relationship to heart. Japango, in the heart of downtown Toronto on Elizabeth Street, believes that you need to look to the past in order to succeed in the future. Our methods and approach to cooking and preparing sushi are reminiscent of the way food was prepared centuries before. The result is a traditional approach where the essence of the food is preparing each dish not just for your mouth, but for the eyes and the heart. Our impeccable standards allow the customer to have an adventurous sushi experience, in a small, quaint and sophisticated atmosphere. Eating sushi is all about the experience - the culture and ambiance at Japango seemingly transports you to Japan. But there’s also the experiences that you create on your own terms. Stay-at-home date nights, inviting some friends over or even ordering a feast for yourself.
Begin your experience with our daily nine-piece sashimi appetizer, sunonomo salad or our sushi pizza. Our deluxe dinner is a true, hearty entree - your choice of grilled chicken, salmon or beef teriyaki, tempura, four pieces of assorted sushi and a six-piece California roll. Our other dinner meals include a full donburi selection, udon noodles in a variety of styles, along with chicken katsu and tonkatsu (breaded pork) too. Our maki rolls feature all the traditional classics - spicy salmon, oshinko, futo, spider roll and a spicy scallop. Our specialty Japango roll features avocado, cucumber and crab meat, topped with scallop and torched salmon sashimi, fish eggs, tuna, spicy mayonnaise and unagi sauce. Japango’s sashimi collection includes clam, squid, scallops, crab and tofu, in addition to the more common fish. As vegetables are a critical component of Japango’s cuisine, there are many vegetarian options available if you desire. We also offer party platters of sashimi and maki that can feed three, five or seven people.

The tiny restaurant near City Hall is always busy during lunch and dinner and is the type of place sushi purists seek out for their fresh fish and high quality Japanese offerings. Venue is small and tables are more leaving very less room between the table. The dining area is really small. You will barely fit in the chair, but the sushi is pretty darn good.
