Roman Alcester is the exciting free-of-charge exhibition interpreting and displaying objects from Alcester's Roman past.
Alcester is one of the most investigated Roman small towns in the country, with over 100 archaeological digs in the last 80 years. Recent excavations have revealed much about the area of the Roman town which would have been outside the boundary wall built in the 3rd century AD.
Roman Alcester offers hands-on visits linked to the National Curriculum Key Stage 2. Other age groups can be accommodated by special arrangement.
Children can make use of all the museum's facilities to bring Roman Britain alive. They can handle pottery and other artefacts and during the afternoon dress in Roman armour for a photo opportunity.
