Rooms

The Nightingale

In Welsh Nanteos means Stream of the Nightingale, the valley was once filled with the song of these beautiful birds' song. There it is only fitting that our King Suite is named after these increasingly rare birds. Nightingale is a sumptuous, elegant suite, featuring a glamorous vintage design with fabulous mirrored deco-style furniture, sensuous, warm neutral colours with hand-stenciled walls in white and champagne. A stunning glass chandelier and tasteful, ornate mirrors ooze romance. A special blue silk-lined wardrobe offers brides-to-be a special, secret place to hide away her wedding dress until the big day. The Nightingale features a grand king-size bed, dressed with pure Egyptian cotton linen with a sensuous satin feel. The seating area contains a double sofa and there is room for a child's cot. The large contemporary en-suite bathroom contains an extra large, extra deep bath amid relaxing hues of soft blues and greens. The Rain shower will wash any stresses far away.

Colonel Powell

Nanteos owner and iconic country gentleman, this was Colonel Powell's favorite room and reflects his love of country pursuits with sculptures and colours associated with his life. The suite is wood paneled, painted with warm neutrals and bluey greys, with natural wool and leather touches, hand-painted wallpaper and accents of crimson. The sumptuous king-size bed with its distinctive red wool cover is inspired by the Colonel's distinguished army career. A large en-suite bathroom offers an old-colonial feel with cast iron roll-top bath with separate shower and a bespoke heated wooden bench for relaxed lingering.

Dyfi

An elegant, timeless suite, it takes on the nearby river Dyfi as its theme, with natural unbleached linen and China blue colours. It features a super king-size bed. The bathroom includes a bath and separate shower with grey and blue shades reminiscent of the soft ebb and flow of the river.

Ystwyth

Inspired by the Ystwyth river. This subtle suite is light and airy, styled with fresh duck egg blues and soft linen colours. It features a super king-size bed and looks out over the front of the mansion. The bathroom delivers a clean, simple, fresh white design and features a bath and a large separate shower.

Edda

Inspired by a Victorian Icelandic theme as George Powell was fascinated by tales of historical explorers from region and worked on many translations of Icelandic legends. Icy greys and subtle greens are warmed by volcanic red highlights within the dé and furnishings. This suite features a super king-size bed with plenty of room for a cot. The unusually high bathroom ceiling features fresh, contemporary white and dark green shades, which are softened by warm traditional Victorian brick shaped tiles and classical lighting. The bathroom features a bath and separate shower. This room is in the old bakery building, which is across a small courtyard from the main hotel building.

Japan

Inspired by Japan, featuring calm soft greys and bright red accents accompanied by Japanese textiles. In keeping with its Asian roots where things aren't always what they seem, this suite offers a special en-suite surprise. Japan features a super king-size bed and there is room for a cot. The deliciously large en-suite bathroom offers a special large square Japanese bath, perfect for two people. It also has a separate soaking basin and separate shower suitable for Japanese bathing rituals.

Hafod

Hafod is inspired by our surrounding natural environment, with its glorious forests and is a nod to the famous, nearby Hafod Estate. Featuring natural colours and textiles with the finest shades of green, neutral tones with touches of primrose yellow. The room features a king-size bed and has plenty of room for a cot. The white and green fresh contemporary bathroom is carefully styled to include warm, traditional elements. The en-suite bathroom includes a bath and a separate shower. This room is in the old bakery building which is across a small courtyard from the main hotel building.

The Lord Byron

A masculine family room designed with romantic poets in mind. Lord Byron is rumoured to have stayed here. Deep boozy reds, opulent rich gold's and smoky greens blend effortlessly with the Ottoman kelims on the sumptuous sofa. The room features a king-size bed and a double sofa offers additional sleeping accommodation. There is room for a cot. The en-suite bathroom features a large rounded bath with a Moroccan copper style surround with a rain shower. The décor continues with its Middle Eastern flavours with burgundy and cola mosaics, a nod to Byron's adventures fighting the Ottoman Empire.

George Powell

Another famous previous Nanteos owner. George Powell's philanthropic approach to life is kept alive in this suite with natural textures, warm brick colours to create a calm and warm atmosphere. It can sleep up to four people with a king-size bed plus an additional double sofa bed and ample room for a cot. The stylish 'less is more' white and grey contemporary bathroom includes a bath and separate shower. We stayed at this hotel few months ago and had a friendly and excellent welcome. Reserved accessible room prior to arrival and it was located on ground floor in a courtyard and came with a dedicated parking place. Access to the main building was by an assisted entry door. The room was large and floored with beautiful warm wood giving plenty of room for movement and it’s facilities were excellent, with a wet room, shower stool, two sinks, one a seated height and one at standing height. The staff were attentive and no request was too much trouble.
