Originally built for the Irish Christian Brothers and as accommodations for the nearby school, the Monastery has a long history of serving the city. Today, we continue that history.
A heritage building, the Holy Cross Monastery had its cornerstone laid on September 13th, 1931. Established not only to house the Irish Christian Brothers, but also to provide additional school accommodations, the Monastery was a welcomed addition to the church and the city of St. John’s.
Located in the heart of St. John’s, we’re easy to find, but miles away from the ordinary noise and troubles of the city. Escape it all inside our walls and find a refreshing environment that caters to you.
The warm suites with casual decor have free Wi-Fi, fireplaces and cable TV. Some offer in-room whirlpool tubs and/or patios. Apartments feature kitchens.
There's an on-site cafe, as well as a spa offering massage and beauty services. Other amenities include conference and event facilities.
