This mid-size downtown café has an impressive selection of baked goods in addition to gourmet coffee options and a small breakfast and lunch menu. Free Wi-Fi is available which may just have you closing down the place!

You enter Le Gourmand through a 34 inch wide entrance located at street level, so there are no ramps to ascend. Wide Spadina sidewalks provide plenty of space to turn and enter, but busy pedestrian traffic may be an obstacle in rush hour. There is no automatic door opener. The entire place is one level, but there is a raised edge where the floor changes from tile to hardwood in a few areas, and carpets were scattered on the floor to soak up winter moisture. The counter area is spacious, with plenty of room to turn a power wheelchair, and I love that the 11 standard height tables are moveable.

A heavy door with a circular handle leads to the clean 80 inch by 65 inch accessible washroom (aka the women’s washroom), with the following highlights: door width of 35 inches, 2 grab bars, 33 inches of clearance under the sink. There were no automatic features in the bathroom.

Regarding transportation, there is Green P Parking located on Spadina north of Queen. The closest accessible subway station would be Osgoode station, however it is quite far.
