We are not a multi-national company nor a chain restaurant and do not pretend to be affiliated to nor adopt the name of a celebrity chef. Instead, at our family-owned and family-run restaurant our modest aims are limited to having a busy and bustling restaurant packed with happy satisfied customers who have been served tasty freshly-prepared food by our experienced, hardworking and pleasant staff
Our head chef, Angelo, hails from Palermo on the Island of Sicily and has been living in Glasgow for the past 35+ years. Our manager, Antonio ("Toni"), has been living in Glasgow for 40+ years since moving here from Rome. We are proud to say that all of our key staff, including our Second Chef, Franco, and Head Waiter, Edmondo, have worked with our family in this and in our previous family restaurants in Glasgow for 80+ years combined. We are one of the (very!) few of Merchant City's genuine authentic Italian restaurants with our Sicilian, Roman, Campanian and Pugliese kitchen and dining room staff, our Roman manager and our Molisan proprietor. Because of all of this, our restaurant's atmosphere and menu have an incomparable and vivid Southern Italian feel.
We have a stylish mezzanine dining area (fully air-conditioned - new top spec Mitsubishi system installed within past year) which comfortably holds up to 54 diners as well as our spacious ground floor dining area and a really beautiful small raised window section available for you to sit at.
Earlier n 2016 we were delighted to represent Glasgow once again (after doing so in 2014 too as one of their 7 finalists) as one of their 10 finalist Restaurants in the Scottish National Food Awards as the Best Italian Establishment in Scotland alongside some very fine Italian Restuarants from Edinburgh, Perth, Falkirk. Doune, Motherwell and Dunfermline.
