Korea, historically, has a very rich food cuisine and tradition. Similar to most other Asian countries the main food is rice which makes up most of the Korean staple diet. Additionally the Korean short grain rice makes up their staple diet, similar to Japanese rice.
Korean kimchi is made using cabbage, however other types of vegetables can be used such as cucumber, radish or bean sprouts, fermented with chilly garlic and other spices. Kimchi is supposedly extremely good for the health because it is rich in vitamins and Lactobacilli.
