Our sheltered home offers safe and independent living for older people who want to be as self-sufficient as possible but without the worry of maintaining their own home. We provide residents with the privacy and independence of having their own affordable, high quality accommodation combined with the support of professional, dedicated staff and the companionship of others. We personalise our service to meet the needs of residents so that they can enjoy freedom, security and peace of mind with support when they need it. Residents are provided with two home-cooked meals a day and have the opportunity to take part in a range of organised social activities and outings throughout the year.

This beautiful house has been carefully adapted to accommodate the varying needs of later life. The home is well maintained and offers a very high standard of accommodation for eight residents, each with their own private en-suite room. The home is easily accessible and has been fitted with an internal passenger lift. Residents can enjoy their time in the home’s communal lounge, dining room or garden. The home also offers laundry facilities, Wi-Fi and operates with a community alarm system that is monitored twenty four hours a day. All residents are provided with two delicious home-cooked meals each day, which are served in the communal dining room. Our rooms come unfurnished so that residents can bring their own furniture and belongings with them to really make their space their own.

Our monthly rental charge is fully inclusive and includes: an experienced House Manager and support staff, home-cooked meals every lunchtime and teatime, telephone line rental, call charges and broadband, building and garden maintenance, gas, electricity and water rates, community alarm monitoring, cleaning of communal areas, laundry facilities, council tax and a TV licence.

Activities

Our caring staff organise a variety of social activities and outings throughout the year for our residents, which range from daily coffee mornings to day trips. We often enjoy fetes and garden parties in the summer and festive activities at Christmas.

Every year we take part in Abbeyfield Week – a week when we open our doors to the local community to show off what's on offer at Abbeyfield. We celebrate this by hosting events such as fetes, tea parties and garden parties, to which residents, their families and the public are invited. We also take part in Abbeyfield’s annual Coping at Christmas Campaign when older people, who would otherwise spend Christmas alone, are invited to join us for the festive period.

Our residents often enjoy days out and visits to other Abbeyfield homes but when they prefer to stay home we still like to find entertaining things for them to do, such as listening to music, watching movies, documentaries and live performances, playing games or simply chatting over a cup of coffee with a slice of cake.

We offer a range of accommodation designed to support the different stages of later life - all of which encourage independence, choice and dignity:

  • Sheltered Housing
  • Care Homes
  • Dementia Care Homes
  • Nursing Homes
  • Independent Living

This means ensuring our houses and homes and services support the values and preferences of older people, and provide a valuable link between residents, their families and the local community.
