A small family run Farm Park, Bed and Breakfast plus campsite nestling amongst the rolling hills of the Cornish countryside, yet just half a mile from the beautiful Porthcothan Bay, situated along the North Cornish coast between Padstow and Newquay.
Young children especially will enjoy the freedom of a visit to Old MacDonald’s Farm.
And what could be better than relaxing in the sunshine, watching the children play whilst indulging in a delicious homemade Cornish Cream Tea, or sampling Scrumpy?
Old MacDonald’s Farm is the ideal place to bring young children. It’s fun for the kiddies and relaxing for the parents. We’re large enough for children to have freedom to play, yet small enough for parents to keep a watchful eye on them. There are all the animals you would expect to find on Old MacDonald’s farm, lambs, chickens, pigs, ponies, calves, etc. as well as plenty of play equipment too.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.
All rides are included in the entry price so there are no hidden extras to pay for. Pony rides, tractors, roller racers, trampolines, climbing frames, crazy golf, even a ride on the miniature train, everything is included.
Accommodation
We have 3 lovely spacious rooms available for bed & breakfast throughout the year.
All rooms are en suite and have wonderful sea views. They are fully equipped with television, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities.
Rooms 1 & 3 can accommodate up to three people as they have a king size and single bed in them and Room 2 is a good size twin bedded room.
For those requiring more than one room, 2 & 3 can be let together to provide a self contained unit with private hallway.
Great for family and friends that don’t do camping! Packed lunches and evening meals can be provided at an additional cost with at least 48 hours notice. The shop and cafe are available when the Farm Park is open to purchase amongst others snacks, food and beverages including alcohol.
For onward coastal walkers, luggage transfers can be arranged via an external company at a reasonable charge, and packed lunches and/or evening meals can be ordered with 48 hours notice at an additional cost.
Camping
We are an ideal base for touring this magnificent area of outstanding natural beauty. Situated in a beautiful rural setting but only half a mile from the beach Old MacDonald’s Farm is the perfect choice for families, walkers or anyone just wanting a quiet relaxing break.
The nearest beach, Porthcothan, is a delightful little bay, perfect for families, great for bathing and surfing. It is a narrow inlet with cliffs, sand dunes, rock pools, even a little stream running down to the sea all combine to make it an idyllic place for children. The camp site which is divided into 4 small bays has 51 good size pitches, measuring from approximately 9m x 12m to 10m x 15m, 30 with electric hook-up. The main amenity block has 6 shower rooms with toilets, plus 2 additional toilets and 2 sets of washing up facilities. There is an extra facilities block, which has 2 ladies showers, wash basins and seperate toilets, plus 2 gents showers, wash basins and seperate toilets, and 2 urinals.
