Set in the heart of Doone Valley it is a perfect holiday destination. The campsite is a perfect base for families, children, couples, walkers and riders. When taking a holiday in the Doone Valley you can expect to wake up to ponies, red deer, herons, buzzards and beautiful scenery in Exmoor Devon.
There is something here at Cloud Farm for everyone. Many of our visitors return regularly throughout the year as it is such a perfect setting. We are open all year round and welcome everyone to visit Exmoor at Cloud Farm Camping whether you visit the campsite or stay in one of the self catering cottages.
Camping
The river is very shallow etc. - but here and there are deep pools. We are open to campervans and caravans as well as tents. We have 12 electical hookups and a camp shop selling most things that you want; there is also a tea room that is open all day selling breakfast lunch tea and takeaway well into the night. The camp showers have been refurbished in 2010 we are very flexible about camping, you can have wood fires and dogs are welcome.
Cottages
Three of them are at Cloud Farm up in the heart of the Doone Valley, overlooking Badgeworthy Water and the rolling hills covered in heather. The other being situated at Lorna Doone Farm at Malmsmead above the Gift Shop overlooking the wonderful packhorse bridge and ford.They are approximately three quarters of a mile apart from each other. The one at Lorna Doone Farm, called Kingfishers, sleeps six and is located at the entrance to the Doone Valley.Cloud Farm, traditional Exmoor farmhouse with its barns and stables, located at the heart of the Doone Valley has spectacular views up and down the valley, having three cottages with views over the river.
Carver's Cottage
The glazed porch area leads into a lovely period sitting room with long deep sofas, armchairs and a TV. At one end is an inglenook fireplace with wood-burning stove and at the other a dining area with a large farmhouse table and chairs. The fitted kitchen includes electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A staircase leads up from the living room to a first floor landing. The double bedroom has a comfortable bed. There are two further twin bedrooms and an additional put-u-up bed. The bathroom has bath with shower, basin and WC.
Ridd's retreat
The conservatory area leads into a hallway and then to a very comfortable sitting/dining room with a good quality double sofa-bed, armchairs, table and chairs and a TV. The fitted kitchen includes electric cooker, microwave, fridge and breakfast bar. The double bedroom has a comfortable bed. The bathroom has bath, basin and WC.
Lorna's Bower
The kitchen/dining area includes electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, dining table and chairs. Steps lead down from the kitchen to a comfortable sitting/dining room which has a good quality double sofa-bed, sofa, armchairs and TV. There is a comfortable bedroom with double bed and a single bed. The bathroom has shower, basin and WC.
Kingfishers Apartment
Steps from the parking area go up to the front door from where a hallway leads into this extensive accommodation. The large fitted kitchen has its own dining area with table to seat 8 and includes electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The spacious sitting room has comfortable sofas, armchairs, TV, video and a table and chairs to seat up to 14 people.
