Apple View - B&B Accommodation
Apple View is the west wing of TempleFarm which lies on the edge of the Somerset Levels in a little village called Chedzoy just outside Bridgwater.
Set on a working livestock farm between Orchards and lush pastures it is an ideal place to come and see real farm life and sample the special culinary treats created for you from our own home-grown produce regularly used in Breakfast. These include our own Free Range eggs, fruit, vegetables, lamb, beef, homemade bread and preserves and soon sausage bacon and pork. Rest in peaceful stylish rooms and sleep in the most comfortable bed ever between pure cotton sheets and warm woollen blankets all rooms are en-suite and one room has facilities for the disabled including an accessible bathroom.
Bramley Lodge - Self catering
Bramley Lodge is a Scandinavian Log cabin. It has 3 Bed rooms and 2 bathrooms (1 en-suite) for the purpose of self catering.
This new self catering facility has facilities for the disabled guest and is a luxury country retreat with it's own private patio and BBQ and is set amongst a mixed fruit orchard on the edge of the Temple Farm site.
Guests here will also be able to meet the farm animals if the wish.
Appleview Accommodation
Apple View is the West Annexe of Temple Farm. It had originally been built as a cider house we think about 100 years ago! We had more recently used it for storing of all things Bramley apples.
After your long journey we are sure that you will be ready for complimentary tea/coffee and cake which can be taken in either the garden on a nice day or the lounge if you prefer.
Why not treat yourselves to a country break with us here in Somerset -Land of the Summer People - as it was known by the Saxons.
Enjoy an evening relaxing in the garden after a warm balmy summers day, see the stars before retiring to bed.
Wake up to birdsong and watch the mist rise, perhaps see the wild deer drift through the orchards and fields before enjoying another hearty farmhouse Breakfast.
Accessibility
Apple View is serviced by a ramp leading to French windows. We have a ground floor bedroom with double bed and also a single bed which can be removed to give total accessibility to the room. This depends obviously upon your own particular circumstance. The en-suite facilities have a roll in shower and seat and grab rails in shower area, by toilet by the sink. Toilet raisers and table raisers are provided if required. There are no steps at Apple View at all. Apple View is registered with The Good Access Guide (Accessible UK).
Bramley Lodge Accommodation
Bramley Lodge has 3 Bedrooms one of which is en-suite with slipper bath + 1 bathroom which has a wet floor system with toilet hand basin and 2 showers (at least 1 with disabled facilities). There is a large living area which is centrally heated by an underfloor oil fired heating system but also has a large wood-burner for the long cold winters nights! The cabin is complete with a full range of electrical appliances, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, Fridge and freezer, Large 1000mm cooker with 8 gas burners and 2 ovens, microwave, solid pine kitchen with granite tops TV, DVD and video. Each Bedroom has its own combi TV/DVD or TV/video so there's no need for arguments as to who watches what programme at the same time. The beds are Victorian Iron bedstead style like the ones in the bed and breakfast and have sprung beech slats and are topped with pocket sprung mattresses. It is set in it's own grounds and has a large private patio, hot tub and garden and is set amongst an orchard full of mixed fruit trees. The cabin will also be available with a degree of catering if required. Accessibility
Bramley Lodge is serviced by a ramp leading into the Log cabin. There are Disabled toilet facilities built into the cabin. It is my intention to offer a welcoming and hassle free environment to all my guests whatever their disability. If there is anything you would like to know or anything we can help you with, please do not be afraid to ask, If we can help we will.
Bramley Lodge has ramp access to the side (1/12) with an adjacent parking bay. This access also provides access down onto the garden and patio area. The sink area has clear under space (there is a small boxed in area which would be less than that of a pedestal which has been tested with our shower chair provided) A grab rail is provided for the more mobile and lever taps for ease of use. The shower area has a wet floor system. Two showers are provided for family use. One of these showers has been fitted with both a vertical upright rail and a drop down rail on the other wall. We have provided a new self propelled shower chair. both the arms and foot rest flip up and down for easy manoeuvrability. The shower chair is also designed to wheel over the toilet if necessary.
