Stretching from just north of the county town of Taunton the Quantocks meet the Bristol Channel at their northern end. Between these two extremes lies a variety of heathland, deep wooded combes and rolling farmland, interspersed with attractive villages and isolated farmhouses.
The village of West Bagborough runs up into the the hills above Bishops Lydeard, and it is at the upper end of the village that you will find Bashfords, a sturdy farmhouse built of local stone and set behind a tall privet hedge.
