This site aims to give you all the information you might need while considering a stay with us. Several of our room even have virtual tours to give you a real feel for the place. Killean Farmhouse is no longer a working farm but still retains many of the characteristics, not least of all the wonderful scenery that surrounds the house and the approach up the drive from the A83.

Killean is ideally situated en route to the Kintyre peninsula, where you can take the ferry to Islay to sample the "peaty amber nectar" the very special whisky unique to the island.

Killean is also well situated for journeys to the outer isles. The ferry port of Oban, the gateway to the Islands, is an hour away .

Being centrally situated Killean is a great place to start touring. You could stay here and tour without the need to retrace your steps either by car or by foot for a week or more.

The historic town of Inveraray, 4 miles away, has a special charm and is of great interest especially if your name is Campbell. Inveraray Castle being the seat of the Clan Campbell.

Bed and Breakfast Rooms

Killean House has five ensuite rooms, all decorated and equipped to a high standard, 3 stars from the scottish tourist board.

After a comfortable nights sleep you can enjoy breakfast served in the conservatory. We cater for most peoples tastes, the most popular breakfast being the traditional Scottish Breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausages and tomato

The Cottages

The cottage accommodation is ideal for those who want to relax and have more freedom to explore the beautiful countryside. They are decorated and equipped to a good standard and are less expensive that the main house.

PLEASE NOTE ALL OUR ACCOMMODATION IS ON A BED AND BREAKFAST BASIS, breakfast is served in the main house.

The cottages have been converted from the original farm buildings and have names linked to their original uses. All cottages have a living room with colour TV and a small kitchen area.

The Byre is split into three units
Cottage E sleeps 6 and has a living room with colour TV
Cottage F sleeps 4 and has a living room with colour TV
Cottage G sleeps 5 and has a living room with colour TV

The Shepherds Cottage sleeps a maximum of 6 people and has a living room with colour TV

The Hayshed is the largests of the cottages sleeping 9. It also has a living room and colour TV.

The Shealing has one bedroom and a living room with colour TV. It can sleep 3 people.

The Bothy has three bedrooms and a living room with colour TV. It sleeps 6 people.

The cottages are set in a square around a courtyard and all have adequate parking facilities.

Well behaved dogs are welcome. Please mention your dog when you make your booking.

For those who chose to stay in the cottages, breakfast is served in the Main House. Cottages are not graded by the Tourist Board.
