We are a seafood and fish restaurant offering private dining and event catering in the City of London. We have been serving fish and seafood in Leadenhall Market for 16 years in our restaurant and terrace.
Our fish restaurant is owned by fourth generation fishmongers Chamberlain and Thelwell fishmongers and all our sparkling fresh fish and seafood is selected daily just four miles away at Billingsgate.
We can proudly say that what is served to you directly comes from boat, to Billingsgate, to kitchen, to plate.
Using this exceptional produce our talented team of chefs create dishes for our fish restaurant that reflect nature’s harvest from around the British Isles in both modern tastes as well as the classics such as Hand Carved Scottish Salmon Oak Smoked, Lobster Bisque Scented with Armagnac & brown shrimp bonbon and Carlingford Irish Oysters.
Chamberlain’s is famous for our Dover Sole from Brixham served on or off the bone, grilled, pan fried or poached in Champagne sauce.
Our meat and poultry dishes are equally as carefully sourced and the poultry, beef and lamb we serve are raised in a natural healthy environment free from stress. Try our Roasted Fillet of Longhorn Beef specaily selected and aged for 33 days.
We take care in making many elements of the menu ourselves such as our bread, ketchups and vinegars and our desserts and we apply this detail to seasonal dishes, for example we are currently serving our Hand-Dived Orkney scallops with Homemade Darjeeling Tea-Smoked Bacon.
Our large restaurant offers our diners flexibility for dining or to host private dining events; our covered terrace and ground floor dining room is popular for lunch and our mezzanine level offers more privacy for small and larger parties. The first floor dining area is an elegant seating space and our downstairs brasserie and bar offers drinks and cocktails until late.
We can host a relaxed dining for 8 on your own floor, formal dinners for 60, private presentations in our downstairs brasserie, canapé receptions for up to 150 on our covered terrace surrounded by the beautiful architecture of Leadenhall Market, lively office parties for up to 60 with music and a dedicated bar… and anything in-between.
There has always been a market at Leadenhall since the first century, but it was not until 1400s that the former Lord Mayor Richard “Dick” Whittington acquired the lease for the building and it quickly became known for the best place in London to buy meat, game, poultry and fish.
Extensively restored in 1991 Leadenhall Market offers a spectacular Victorian setting with the roof, cobbles and building preserved. On the ground floor if you look up to the ceiling you can actually see the original hooks that were used to hang the poultry and meat from.
