The Fox and Hounds is an end of terrace traditional pub, it retains its character. We are small indeed but big on personality. The Fox has the widest possible clientele and it is not at all odd to see the occasional actor having a well deserved pint after a show at the Royal Court Theatre.
Customers can enjoy fine cask ales, distinctive international craft lagers and a good selection of wines.
The Fox and Hounds is a cosy and inviting 19th century pub tucked away behind Sloane Square and the Kings Road. Built in 1860 as a working mans pub for the staff of the Grosvenor estate, the pub originally operated as ales only. It was in-fact the last London Pub to operate as such until in 1996, a spirit license was at long last acquired.
You'll find plenty of fox themed memorabilia on the walls and three big hounds even live upstairs! The pub is also close to Chelsea Royal Hospital, so expect to see the traditional Chelsea pensioner propping up the bar and doing a crossword during the day!.
We are very lucky with our cellar as in Victorian times the River Bourne was forced underground and now runs underneath the pub helping to keep our cellar cool. In fact, over the years we have been informed by multiple Guinness drinkers that ours is the best in London, we attribute that the River Bourne!
We don’t have a garden, however you’re welcome to take your drink outside into the London street and watch the world go by. We have beautiful hanging baskets, so during the warmer months the pub is “lit up” with colour..
