Northbank Northbank, 1 Paul's Walk, London EC4V 3QH, UK

Northbank was created and opened by Christian Butler (ex-Adam Street and Baltic) in September 2007 and offers a Modern British menu with a Cornish influence showcasing exceptional ingredients sourced from Christian’s hometown of Falmouth and surrounding areas of Cornwall in the south of England. Fresh fish is delivered daily sourced from day boats off the Cornish coast.

'Good food and a great view across the Thames ' - Fay Maschler, The Evening Standard.

The view from Northbank's private terrace encompasses some of London’s most iconic landmarks including the South Bank with Shakespeare's Globe, Tate Modern and The Shard linked to the north by the “wobbly” Millennium Bridge. St Paul's Cathedral is just a short walk from the restaurant. Northbank’s prime riverside location attracts City workers, locals and tourists alike and we look forward to welcoming you soon.

Recognised by several awards, such as being the Winner of the 2017 OpenTable Diners’ Choice Award, and spearheaded by a passionate new Head Chef, Northbank serves a sublime array of dishes that showcase some of the best Modern British cuisine has to offer, influenced by the occasional Cornish twist.

John, the new Head Chef, says that chefs such as Marco Pierre White and Pierre Koffman have influenced his Modern British style, which features the odd French twist. He has poured his passion into each item on the menu, granting guests an exquisite taste of Modern British cuisine from the very first bite. This is clear from such exemplary appetisers as the heavenly scorched scallops, complete with radish & a watercress oil, and the rich venison carpaccio, partnered with smoked aubergine & a black pepper mayonnaise.

The quality continue through to the main courses, where a concise list of delights await. Outstanding selections include the succulent roast rack of Cornish lamb, adorned with feta cheese & a Kalamata olive jus, and the sumptuous lemon sole, finished with oyster leaves & a champagne cream. Those wishing to conclude their meal in style can also peruse the divine desserts, which offer diners the opportunity to savour a thoroughly enjoyable three course meal.

Complete with a fantastic level of hospitality and glorious views across the River Thames, Northbank works wonders as both a casual spot to sample some brilliant fare and as a venue fit for any celebration.
