Basil Sheils Accommodation has recently been renovated, keeping with the early Farm House style and character. There are 2 types of accommodation available. Enjoy our delicious ‘Sheils Fry’ in our renowned Forge Restaurant, or choose Self Catering with fully equipped kitchen appliances and bathroom furnishings.

Established in the late 1880’s Basil Sheils was one of the last bottle houses (no draft beer) in the North of Ireland. Over recent years it has evolved immensely from the small Traditional Irish Bar to something quite special.

Today Basil Sheils consists of a small Traditional Irish Bar and spacious Lounge, The Forge Restaurant and Bed & Breakfast and Self Catering Accommodation. We are beautifully situated along the Callen River in the heart of Tassagh 5 miles from Armagh and 2 miles from Keady

At The Forge Restaurant our aim is to offer a great dining experience in a warm cosy and relaxed venue. The young and talented Chef, Ciaran Penny and his team provide inventive cooking with intriguing combinations of ingredients designed to impress all our guests with simpler classics and wonderfully flavoured signature dishes based on fresh locally sourced produce.
