Information Desk

See the Information Desk inside the Museum entrance for:

  • tickets and tours
  • what’s on and special offers
  • free wheelchair, scooter and stroller hire
  • maps in English, Mandarin, German and more
  • storing bags, umbrellas, baby backpacks or any item where one side is larger than 30 cms

Free wi-fi

Wi-fi is free across the Museum. We also have free recharge stations.

Cafe and shop

The Museum Cafe is open from 9am to 4.45pm. The Museum Shop is open weekdays from 10am to 5pm and weekends from 9am to 5pm. There is an ATM in the Hall.

Accessibility

Parking: 

  • Free access parking spaces are available near the Museum’s main entrance.

Wheelchair and motorised scooters:

  • Bring your own or use one of ours, available from the Information Desk. We suggest booking 24 hours in advance, phone +61 2 6208 5110. 

Lifts: 

  • All areas are accessible by lifts with audible voice messages about direction and gallery levels.

Hearing loops: 

  • Personalised hearing loops are available for all guided tours. We have hearing induction loops in our theatres and at the Information Desk. There is an audio non-bank ATM in the Hall.

Large print and tactile guides: 

  • Maps and Garden of Australian Dreams guides are available for free loan.

Guided tours and activities: 

  • Tours are available in a range of languages. Our access team runs tailored workshops and can help organise participation in all Museum activities.

Assistance animals: 

  • Trained, registered and visibly identified assistance animals are welcome when accompanied by their handler

    My elderly father and I visited every part of the exhibits and shop in a wheelchair that was available at front desk. There are many slots for disabled parking and lots of accessible toilet. The floor is hard so it is very easy to move on wheelchair. Mostly all part is accessible using wheelchair and staff was very helpful in providing information
