Though only 3 miles from the centre of Bolton, Dunscar offers peace, tranquility and fine uninterrupted views. Dunscar is an 18-hole moorland course and is a challenge to golfers of all levels. At 6033 yards it is not a short course and you need to pace yourself accordingly. The 3rd hole (Watermans) is surrounded by scenery that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up regardless of when you play. The whole valley opens up with the backdrop of Winter Hill on the left and Turton Heights on the right, as well as various stretches of water in the distance. Our signature hole is  the 16th (Quarry) and is one of the most picturesque on the course. It is a short par three with four bunkers on the right and heather and gorse surrounding the front. The 12th and 17th also offer especially scenic views.

All-in-all, Dunscar is a very attractive and charming course. It is a private members’ club but visitors are most welcome. Why not take advantage of some of our great offers and packages? Founded in 1908 and is situated in the valley of Galebrook between Turton Heights and Winter Hill. Though only 3 miles from the centre of Bolton, Dunscar offers peace, tranquility and fine uninterrupted views. Dunscar is an 18 hole moorland course and is a challenge to golfers of all levels.
 
Catering
  • There is a comprehensive catering service available in the Clubhouse, any specific requirements should be arranged at least 48 hours in advance.
Procedure on arrival
  • Upon arrival at the club, visitors should report to the club professional at the Pro-Shop at least fifteen minutes before play. Pay any green fee or balance due and produce handicap certificates if required to do so. Late arrival may result in cancellation of bookings and inconvenience to other players.
  • The professional has a limited number of two seater ride on buggies, electric and pull trolleys available. We suggest to avoid disappointment you pre-book these well in advance of your visit.
Tees
  • Play is from the Yellow Tee Markers (Men) and Red Tee Markers (Women)
Security
  • The Club is not liable for the property of the visitors. Please look after your property at all times and ensure valuables are not left unattended in cars. The club house and locker rooms are protected by card and keypad entry systems. The professional will provide the daily access codes when you arrive.
There are full shower and changing facilities in both the male and female locker rooms.
