Ballymena United Youth Academy offers a high standard of football coaching to young people aged from 5 to 15.
Ballymena United Youth Academy aims to help young footballers raise their technical and footballing skills to the highest possible standards, by providing an enjoyable, exciting and stimulating environment with quality provision. It will also strive to develop the players sense of self esteem, motivation and desire to learn via the Youth Academy . Above all, football is there to be enjoyed. We encourage all to play with a " smile on their faces " and in a relaxed and confident manner so that their true potential can be realised.
We are a well-established youth football club offering a high standard of football coaching for approximately 250 local young people between the ages of 5 and 17.
Our players generally progress to the NIFL Irish Premier League club Ballymena United and a number of Youth Academy graduates have progressed to represent the club at first team level.
Our Mini Soccer School focuses on skills development and emphasises the importance of players having fun while learning basic football skills at our centres on a Saturday afternoon at Ballymena Showgrounds.
At these young age groups our teams also play 5, 7 and 9 a-side format against local teams in Ballymena as well as taking part in other Small Sided Games centres throughout Northern Ireland including weekly games in Ballymena, Lisburn and Coleraine every weekend.
From the age of Under 12 to Under 15 our teams represent the club in the National League which is the premier competition for youth football in Northern Ireland. The league has member clubs from all over Northern Ireland with our teams regularly competing in all six counties throughout the season.
We also have development teams at the Under 12, Under 13, Under 14 and Under 17 age groups which represent the club in the Lisburn and Castlereagh Junior Invitational Football League and the Harry Gregg Foundation Youth League.
