A warm welcome awaits you at Keld Lodge. This former shooting lodge and youth hostel is now a comfortable hotel and restaurant. We are situated in beautiful Swaledale close to the half-way points on the Coast to Coast walk and Pennine Way. The full glory of one of Yorkshire's finest dales sits on our doorstep offering a wide variety of local country walks and interests.
Our aim is to ensure that our guests enjoy every aspect of Keld Lodge - from the warmth of our welcome and high quality accommodation to our excellent food and real ales.
Superb views of Swaledale fill the windows of our conservatory dining room, lounge and many of our bedrooms. Comfy chairs and a huge picture window in our lounge provides a comfortable and informal place to sit, relax and enjoy the scenery.
At Keld Lodge we place an emphasis on doing the simple things really well. We believe we understand what walkers want from an overnight stay. We provide a warm welcome, a clean and comfortable room with a hot relaxing shower, a big walk-in drying room for wet boots and clothing, a high quality evening meal and a friendly bar to round off your day.
We offer tasty, nourishing lunches, dinners and breakfasts using only the freshest, locally sourced quality ingredients. We have a well stocked bar offering some of Yorkshire's finest real ales, a wide choice of wines, a great selection of malt whiskies and a range of soft drinks.
We are happy to accommodate the needs of all diets and will prepare meals for any special needs. We understand that long distance walkers often wish to eat and retire to bed early and be back on the trail first thing after breakfast the next morning so our dining room opens early in the evening and breakfast is available from 8:00am to 9:00am every day.
We welcome children and provide sofa beds in some of our rooms that convert them into family rooms. We welcome clean, well behaved dogs throughout the hotel except in our dining room.
We provide access to the internet from a computer in our bar as well as free WIFI to check on emails or find out what the weather gods have in store.
Accommodation
We offer three twin rooms, one triple room, four double rooms and one single room that all have en-suite facilities. In addition we have two small single rooms that, whilst being compact, provide a single bed with en-suite WC and hand basin and a shared shower room. All our rooms are equipped with flat screen colour televisions, tea and coffee making facilities and are cleaned and refreshed daily by our housekeeping staff.
