Ulster Hall Ulster Hall, 34 Bedford St, Belfast BT2 7FF, United Kingdom

The Ulster Hall is a concert hall and grade A listed building in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Situated on Bedford Street in Belfast city centre, the hall hosts concerts, classical recitals, craft fairs and political party conferences.

Ulster Hall is an iconic venue that has been in the heart of Belfast since 1862. As years have moved on, the need for accessibility has been at the core of our development.

Making entertainment accessible for all is important to the team at Ulster Hall which is why the venue features accessible toilets, entrances, as well as accessible drop off points and accessible seating spaces.

How do I book a wheelchair space?
Our wheelchair spaces in the venue can now be booked online. An example of how to book a wheelchair space is below.

I am a party of two people with a requirement for one wheelchair space. I begin by selecting ‘two’ wheelchair access seats to ensure my party are sat together. In order to let the venue team know how many of my party I require to be wheelchair accessible, I then selection ‘one’ from the drop-down option below.

Should wheelchair users wish to be in the standing area for standing shows, please contact a venue representative for assistance.

Where can I park that is close to the venue?
The Ulster Hall is located in the city centre with the option of either on-street parking or using nearby car parks.

The closest car parks are:

  • Dublin Road, Hardcastle Street, multi-storey car park
  • Great Northern Car park, Great Victoria Street, multi-storey car park.

Can I be dropped off close to the venue?

The Ulster Hall is right in the heart of the city centre, located on Bedford Street. This allows for customers to be dropped off at the door of the Ulster Hall.

I am unable to use stairs. Can I access all the levels of the venue?
We have ramp access to the venue to the right hand side of the front doors, at the glass porch. We also have lift access to the first floor of the Ulster Hall, which can accommodate one wheelchair user and companion. The lift has lowered control positions and speech indication and is equipped with braille signage.

We have an accessible toilet on both our ground floor and first floor. If you require access to disabled changing facilities, please let one of our team know who can assist.

I have epilepsy and flashing lights can cause seizures.
Strobe lighting, pyrotechnics and lasers may be used by some artists in their performances. We are not usually made aware of this at the time of the show going on-sale. If we are made aware of it on the day of the event, signage will be visible throughout the venue

I have a hearing impairment. Can you accommodate?
We have an infra-red system in both the Ulster Hall. Customers are requested to turn their hearing aid to ‘T’ setting to enable this.

I am deaf and require a BSL or ISL interpreter. Can you accommodate?
Yes, we can arrange for a BSL or ISL signer to be at the performance. We ask that you try to give eight weeks' notice to ensure that we can arrange for a signer to be present.

I have an assistance dog that I required to be with me at all times. Can I bring him/her with me?
Yes, assistance dogs are most welcome at the Ulster Hall. Please let us know in advance and we can allow for water provision. We advise giving no less than 48 hours notice to ensure this is picked up ahead of your visit.

Customers are asked to bear in mind the noise levels at events and the use of special effects including pyrotechnics and strobe lighting.

Do you offer relaxed performances?
Our shows are guided by the promoter and we do ensure that relaxed performances are front of mind, particularly when it is possible for shows with a longer run. Our sister venue, Waterfront Studio offers a relaxed performance with our pantomime every year. It’s always a popular show, so we advise early booking to avoid disappointment. The information on this show can be found via Waterfront Hall’s website.

If you or a member of your party is coming to a show and are nervous about being a busy crowd, please let us know and we will accommodate when we can depending on the promoter/artist.
