Edgewater Gardens has been operating since 1984, current Property Managers operating since Aug 2011 and undertaking ongoing upgrades of the property and its facilities. It is a complex of 16 self-contained holiday units in Batemans Bay with a mix of Beachfront Studio/Family Units and 2 Bedroom Poolside Apartments and now offering a Beachfront King 1 Bedroom Accessible Apartment with waterfront views across calm Casey’s Beach to the north shore, Snapper and Tollgate Islands. Accessible reception/office area. We are centrally located just over the hill from the Liberty Swing and funded accessible playground on Corrigans Beach. In Dec 2015, Corrigans Beach will have its own Adult & Child Beach wheelchair and beach matting to allow access to the beach and water.
We want all our accessible accommodation guests to feel as welcome as all our guests and not have to come to reception to ask for specifics to be changed in their unit, we hope to have accommodated this with all facilities at wheelchair level and within easy reach of a person with a disability. This unit also has it’s own grassed area to allow for guide or assistance animals and the compendium is in large print. All light switches are large and easy to operate and all lamps are touch sensitive.
Accessible activites around the area include Skydive Oz is a Skydiving business; Region X offer Kayak Tours and Hire; Surf the Bay offer Surfing lessons and Stand Up Paddle Boarding; Oaks Ranch & Country Club provide horse rides; Mogo Zoo and they recommend a Feed the Tiger experience as a suitable encounter for wheel chair patrons; Bay River Houseboats Jet Ski. As well as numerous Restaurant/Cafes and the local shopping Centre.

Additional Information
Our accessible accommodation is in prime position within the complex being beachfront and offering panoramic ocean views. The bathroom has been fully redesigned with a roll in shower and accessible toilet, with roll under vanity unit and a front loader washing machine for ease of use. The outside deck is rollout with accessible ramps into and around the whole unit. The table and kitchen have been modified for complete wheelchair accessibility of entire unit.
The Reception area has been modified with a reception desk for accessible height and the installation of sliding door access ramps from the carpark into the reception area.
We have a small variety of shower chairs available on the premises available at no additional charge but other equipment such as hoists, bed levers, etc can be hired locally (pre booking in advance is essential).
The unit has it’s own car park spot located just outside the front door of the apartment.
