Planters Inn is South Carolina’s only Relais & Châteaux Hotel. Our historic hotel is an oasis of beauty and gentility for guests who appreciate luxury, personal space, and added privacy.
Housed in an elegant building dating from 1844, this refined hotel in Charleston's Historic District is 0.5 miles from Waterfront Park and 5.2 miles from USS Yorktown historic aircraft carrier.
The posh antiques-filled rooms have 10-foot ceilings, marble bathrooms and period-style furniture, including handcrafted 4-poster beds with Italian linens. They also have free Wi-Fi. Some rooms have fireplaces and terraces. Suites add separate living space.
Amenities include a courtyard garden with gas-lit carriage lanterns, an upscale restaurant serving Southern cuisine and an afternoon tea service.

Exquisitely decorated with a mix of beautiful antiques that celebrate the historic hotel's mid-19th-century heritage as well as bespoke décor and thoughtfully chosen art that underscores exceptional attention to detail, Planters Inn Guest Rooms and Suites offer a hotel experience unlike any other.
Each room is decorated with furniture indicative of the late nineteenth century style. A flat-screen cable TV, ironing facilities, and a desk are included in Planters Inn – Charleston rooms. All en suite bathrooms have a bathrobe.
Complimentary coffee and orange and mango tea are offered in the parlor in the morning. A business centre is on site as well as a concierge service for guests’ convenience. Newspapers and daily maid service are free.
