Nature in Art Nature in Art, Wallsworth Hall, Sandhurst, Gloucester GL2 9PA, United Kingdom

Nature in Art is a museum and art gallery at Wallsworth Hall, Twigworth, Gloucester, England, dedicated exclusively to art inspired by nature in all forms, styles and media. The museum has twice been specially commended in the National Heritage Museum of the Year Awards.

Welcome to Nature in Art, the world’s first museum and art gallery dedicated to fine, decorative and applied art inspired by nature.

Our unrivalled collection is housed in a fine Georgian mansion, featured in Simon Jenkins’s book ‘England’s 1000 Best Houses’, just outside the famous cathedral city of Gloucester.

Taxis: are available from Gloucester train and bus stations.

Cyclists: We welcome cyclists. There are railings beside the main building where cycles can be parked/locked.

Walkers: We recommend that walkers approach Nature in Art via the main entrance. However, there are many rights of way in the area so if you are walking the countryside you may appreciate Nature in Art as an inspiring stop-off.

Accessibility

Weregularly welcome individuals and groups with disabilities. There is ramped access for wheelchair users. Inside there is a lift and level or ramped access to the garden, art studios etc and wheelchair users toilets.

Please note that the lift may not be able to accommodate some wheelchairs and the toilets may not be suitable for all wheelchair users. We are addressing this situation at the moment. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require information before you visit.

The museum has two wheelchairs for free loan to visitors who might need them (booking in advance is recommended).

Guide dogs for the sight and hearing impaired are welcome. With prior notice we are pleased to make extra tactile exhibits available for visitors with visual impairment.

Younger visitors:

Within our gallery spaces there are always a number of themed handling boxes which are aimed at helping children and families explore, discover and learn more about Nature in Art’s collection and various art techniques.

Elsewhere, there also is brass-rubbing, an outside sculpture trail and a small play area.
