Even wet weather cannot detract from the beautiful grounds and lake at Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park. This family friendly day out is ideal for little ones and it won’t break the bank either! There are so many animals to see including goats, ponies, lots of diverse types of birds, pigs, ducks and Ben and Jerry the two alpacas! The grade 2 listed gardens are fantastic open spaces where little kids (and big ones too) can run free.
Why not take a look at our upcoming events and attractions which you can come and see at Kingston Maurward Animal Park and Gardens.
Birthday Parties!
With animals to feed, gardens to discover and a lakeside to explore, Kingston Maurward Animal Park and Gardens offers an exciting location to celebrate any birthday – especially with the addition of our brand new indoor barn and cafe!
Meet the Animals
Enjoy meeting and feeding some of our local residents from rabbits and guinea pigs to sheep, alpacas and shetland ponies. Learn all about how Kingston Maurward is helping to conserve our animal heritage through our work with the Rare Breeds Survival Trust and enjoy coffee and snacks while children enjoy the play areas
Gardens
A tranquil, peaceful and intimate spot, the gardens are beautifully situated in undulating Dorset countryside, with a lake, canals, broad sweeping and formal gardens. The lovely 35 acre formal gardens were created by the Hanburys between 1915 and 1922 within the existing framework of an eighteenth century Capability Brown style parkland setting and the vestiges of a Victorian garden.
