A two-story destination serving classic Vietnamese cuisine amongst upscale, French colonial decor.
Le Colonial is a celebration of the seductive spirit and vivid flavors of 1920’s French Colonial Southeast Asia, located in the heart of one of America’s largest and most diverse cities. Designed to capture a bygone era of sophistication and opulence, celebrated restaurateurs Rick Wahlstedt and Joe King deliver on exquisite attention to detail in a luxurious escapist oasis in The River Oaks District.
A lavish downstairs dining room is adorned with period photography, overhead fans and leather banquettes, and flanked by a Parisian-Style sidewalk café. A dramatic staircase leads to a second level lounge, where a large bar, mahogany millwork and plush seating create the perfect atmosphere for cocktails and light fare. Custom louvered shutters surround the west veranda, while an additional terrace on the north side is fully enclosed and features additional dining tables. The Lotus Room, anchored by a mural created by Swedish muralist Jonas Wickman rendered in gentle tropical tones, seats up to 14 for private dinners and wine tastings.
Executive Chef Team Nicole Routhier and Hassan Obaye have reimagined culinary traditions from the region and added contemporary touches to create a menu that deftly balances classic Vietnamese comfort foods and delicate fusions of French-Asian cuisine.
