Our permanent galleries showcase our collections and are home to a vast array of art, historical artefacts and specimens from the natural world.  The Ulster Museum’s art collection contains one of the finest collections of Irish art to be found anywhere in the world.  There are also fine collections of sculpture, works on paper, contemporary art, fashion, ceramics, glass, silver and furniture.  The engaging and stimulating history galleries tell the story of the people of Ireland from their first arrival on the island until the present day. The science galleries are a ‘must-see’ for anyone with an interest in the richness and diversity of the natural world.  We also have changing temporary exhibitions for you to enjoy.

There is no car park here except for two disabled spaces within a very compact court yard. On street parking within a busy university district is the only option. Entrance is free with donations accepted. The museum rotates some of its featured exhibits to keep the visits fresh. Accessed by lift, the place is bright an airy. Most exhibits are accessible, but not all of them. There is a cafe which has limited space for wheelchair users and a toilet that could do with updating. If you find yourself walking around Belfast it is worth a visit.
