Body Worlds is an exciting museum all about the anatomy & physiology of the human body.
BODY WORLDS: The Happiness Project is located in a historic building right in the center of Amsterdam. The building was once home to the American Express offices. After a complete renovation, the building is now ready to accommodate the exhibition. You start your visit by taking the elevator to the 6th level and then taking the stairs down through each following level of the exhibition until you reach the end in the basement. You have then seen 200 real human preparations, and you know everything about happiness and the effects of it on the human body. Maybe you’ll even say that visiting BODY WORLDS is one of the things everyone must do in Amsterdam.
Let BODY WORLDS Amsterdam take you on a fascinating journey through the human body. With 200 real plastinated bodies on display, BODY WORLDS will teach you all you’ve ever wanted to know about your own anatomy.
BODY WORLDS Amsterdam is part of a more significant set of exhibitions created by Dr. Gunther von Hagens. The original incarnation was an internationally successful touring exhibition that has been in more than 100 cities in Europe, America, Africa and Asia. Since the start in 1995, around 40 million people have visited the human body exhibition.

ACCESSIBILITY
The Happiness Project is accessible to visitors who use a wheelchair, a walker, or a mobility scooter. Keep in mind that you will be taking the elevator to the exhibition starting-point on the 6th level. A small portion of the exhibition is situated in the basement, and this is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. This is why we offer a discounted rate to disabled visitors. There is also, of course, a disabled visitor toilet.
