The Saint Patrick Centre is one of Northern Ireland's leading attractions and a must see destination on the way from Dublin to Belfast. We are a registered charity as well as an important educational resource about the life of Ireland's most famous export - Saint Patrick.

No trip to Ireland is complete without a visit to the National Grave of Saint Patrick. Discover his incredible story at the Saint Patrick Centre in the medieval town of Downpatrick just 35 minutes south of Belfast.

ACCESSIBILITY

  • Yes the entire building and exhibition is disabled friendly and an elevator is available to give access to the Cafe and gardens.

FACILITIES

ATM Cash Machine

  • An ATM cash machine is situated at Santander Bank on Saint Patrick’s Square in front of the Saint Patrick Centre. It welcomes all ‘Link’ cards and Maestro, Mastercard, Cirrus, Visa, Plus and VPay cards.

Free Wi-Fi

  • Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the building.

Car Parking

  • There are two public car parks beside the centre.

Coach Parking

  • A coach drop off point and parking is available for all pre-booked groups. Group Bookings will soon be available online until then please call us for more information.

Restaurants

  • Choose from a wide range of hearty menu options in the Garden Cafe including speciality teas, sandwiches and delicacies.

Craft Shop

  • Our Craft Shop is the best in Northern Ireland and offers an exclusive range of clothing, gifts and unique memorabilia.

    The car parking here is terrible and so is the signposting to any available parking close by. The centre is okay and has a small museum area a store and a coffee shop. There is a pathway to the graveyard where St Patrick’s grave is located, this is very steep and although it is smooth it will require a lot of strength to push up to.
