Slack House Farm is the home of the Birdoswald Cheese Dairy and The Scypen licensed Cafe and Farm Shop.
The farm is on the edge of the Bewcastle Fells overlooking Hadrian’s Wall and is on the National cycle route 72 and only 0.5km from the Hadrian’s Wall National Trail. The Roman road from Birdoswald to Bewcastle crosses the farm.
The farm has full organic status and are serving Homemade Food and Tasty Treats. We also offer affordable comfortable accommodation in our Bunk and Camping Barn for individuals, groups and families.
We are located 15 miles from Carlisle, 9 miles from Brampton, 35 miles from Penrith, 7 miles from Haltwhistle, 25 miles from Gretna.
Our Bunk and Camping Barn is a stone barn and stables adjacent to The Scypen licensed cafe and farm shop and the Birdoswald cheese dairy.
The Farm can provide cooked breakfasts, farmhouse suppers and packed lunches.
Each room has its own shower, toilet, hot and cold water, heated towel rail and electric lighting.
With wood-fired, under-floor heating on the ground floor and great facilities such as laundry, drying room and separate sitting and eating area with wood pellet stove, this is a lovely cosy place to base your stay on Hadrian’s Wall.
