The City Merchant is now recognised as Glasgow’s leading seafood restaurant. Clientele arrive from all ‘airts and pairts’ of the world to experience the rustic Scottish ambience, warm Glasgow hospitality and fine local produce. Carnivores are also spoilt for choice.
As members of the Scottish Beef Club, steaks are delivered by a Quality Meat Scotland approved butcher. All of our ingredients are sourced locally where possible and are of the very highest quality.
As we’re only a short walk from George Square in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City our location is first class too.

Our VIP loft area offers a more private dining experience for up to 16 people and we can also cater for large corporate bookings too.
Our function room caters up to 45 people and has its own bar, ideal for informal gatherings, business meetings and events.
