The Bield is a large Victorian house built of sandstone in 1900. Our Bed and Breakfast rooms are decorated to a high standard and we have a comfortable guest lounge to relax in. We have tried to keep and restore as many of its original features. We have private off road parking for our guests and we are able to provide safe storage for bikes.
The house overlooks the lovely village of Aberfoyle in the Trossachs Scotland, with all its wonderful scenery. The Village is only a few minutes walk away and has some great pubs and places to eat.
Aberfoyle is situated in the heart of The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, an area of outstanding beauty with mountains, lochs and glens. With many miles of walking and cycling routes starting from Aberfoyle, its an ideal base for seeing this lovely part of Scotland.
The newly refurbished David Marshall Lodge Forest Visitor Centre with its walks and waterfall is only 10 minutes walk away from The Bield. The Go Ape high wire adventure course is located at The Centre and we are able to offer out guests a discount on tickets.
Rooms
We have a very comfortable guest lounge with a large open log fire you can relax watch some television or maybe plan your next day in the wonderful Trossachs area.
All of our rooms have en-suite bathrooms. We have two double rooms and one twin room. Our rooms are very comfortably furnished with tea and coffee making facilities. A full Scottish breakfast will be served in the Guests Lounge and Dining Room which has views of the front and rear gardens. The lounge is comfortable and has a lovely fireplace and large television and music player. Wifi is available in the lounge for guests to keep in touch with friends and family or check emails.
We have secure storage for bikes if you are bringing your own cycles and bikes can also be hired locally and stored with us overnight.
A full Scottish breakfast is included in our tariff or a lighter continental option is also available. Tea and coffee, breakfast cereals, fruit juice and toast are all available to compliment a cooked breakfast to set you up for the day.
We have free wifi access throughout the house for guests and we have a good mobile phone signal. Secure off road parking is provided to the side of the house for each room and we have secure storage in our garage for bikes.
