Legend has it Miss Chatelaine was a well-heeled adventuress with a fondness for trinket collecting. After discovering a 'darling little gin distillery', 'wickedly good cocktail', 'passionate brewer' or 'most charming winemaker' she would bring her finds back to Fremantle, to share with her band of fellow bohemians. Over exotic dishes of fantastical flavours, she’d regale them with risqué stories about her trysts and escapades. Eventually her salons became so popular, she opened her own establishment
