Affectionately named after the owner's nonna, Lulu La Delizia in Subiaco, is all about embracing fresh, regional delights inspired by the Friuli and the Venetian spice route in Italy. A small bespoke eatery and wine bar, this is a place that full of friends deep in conversation over a glasses of wine and shared plates of cheese, meats and preserved vegetables. Pasta is the main menu attraction and features dishes like the impressive looking squid ink bigoli in salsa with a smoked fish crumb.
Lulu La Delizia is a small eatery and wine bar specialising in the premium fresh pasta and the delights of Friuli and the Venetian spice route. Named in honour of our Nonna, Luigia Valvasori, who emigrated to Australia in 1952 from the town of Casarsa della Delizia, Friuli, in the far North-East of Italy, bringing with her the wonderful culinary traditions that make up the heart and soul of our creations.
We believe that pasta is one of the most beautiful crafts in the world, but is all too often lost in a wash of sauce. Sure, a bowl of pasta needs to be delicious, but peoples focus is far too often centred around the sauce. We really want to put the focus back onto the pasta itself. Hours of time is spent crafting and perfecting the pasta for every bowl that we serve. Not only do we want you to taste our delicious flavours, but we want you to be able to feel our dedication. Pasta should be textural with bite, whilst being silky and luxurious.
We will be making all of our pasta using a wide variety of techniques, equipment, recipes and flours. This is our craft. Our Specialitât.
To accompany our beautiful pasta selection, we will be offering a selection of beautiful Friulano inspired ‘delights’, delicious tastes to excite your senses.
Our wine list includes predominantly Italian and Australian wines which have been carefully selected to complement our cuisine.
