Leapfrogs is situated in the Wanneroo Botanic Gardens on the shores of lake Joondalup. Dutch born Theo and Hanneke Puik commenced work in 1974, aspiring to turn the two hectares of sandy scrubland into a magical mini-golf garden. Officially opening in 1981, it quickly became a successful tourism icon in the region, however, tea and bikkies was not enough, it lacked the delicious food and beer our guests enjoy today.
In 1995 Paul and Nicole Woodcock, daughter and son-in-law of Theo and Hanneke, purchased the business and set about solving this dilemma with the development of Leapfrogs Café. Open since 1998, it has continued to evolve into an eclectic style, garden venue offering fresh, tasty, honest food, hot coffee, local beers and great wines in an unbeatable atmosphere.
In recent years Mark Gill, former head chef of Little Creatures Fremantle, and his wife Karin have joined with Paul and Nicole, becoming part owners and taking over the daily management. Their passion for people and philosophy of high quality, simple fresh produce is making Leapfrogs the biggest little busy place around.
